All forest adapted beetle species endemic to Azores are now assessed for extinction risk by the IUCN SSC MID-ATLANTIC ISLAND INVERTEBRATES SPECIALIST GROUP

Most Azorean native forest adapted endemic beetles have high extinction risk due to the bad condition and protection of the Azorean native habitats. Most species require urgent attention and protection measures. These include all mountain-restricted species as well coastal species, all of them threatened by competing congeners or invasive plants. Extending current protected areas, restoring original habitats of threatened species and the control of invasive taxa should remain a priority for species survival.
